Thailand was the first country to detect a case of COVID-19. After an initial spike in cases, Thailand went 8 months between May and mid-December 2020 without any reported local transmission of COVID-19. Thailand’s four decades of investment in its health system has positioned the Country to effectively respond to the current public health crisis. This factsheet aims to draw Thailand’s experience in coping with the COVID-19 pandemic during January 2020 - March 2021.
