Thai Diagnosis Related Group-based Global Budget (DRG-GB) Provider Payment System in Thailand

Objective of the program 1.To share Thai experiences on the process and history of the introduction and development of the provider payment mechanisms in particular DRG-GB based models with top policy makers and technical working groups from the Philippines; 2.To identify technical issues for strengthening through exchanges of know-how and long term technical support 3.Visit health care units to gain understanding of Thai DRG-GB Provider Payment System in Thailand 2.Expected Outcomes Following the study tour, the delegation will return to the Philippines to share their learnings and discuss recommended next steps with colleagues, the following outcomes are expected: 1.All participants have gained detailed operational knowledge of Thailand’s approach to at least one of the key learning areas; and have discussed how that approach may need to be similar or different in the Philippines. 2.Participants have shared their learnings from the study visits with colleagues and select health system stakeholders in a post-tour forum in the Philippines.
